How can you protect your Shopify store?

Rahul Sharma |

Specifically, Mike discusses: The common misconception about what Shopify backs up, and what responsibility does the merchant have to protect their own store?

Shopify, like many SaaS platforms, follows the Shared Responsibility Model, which means that they perform platform level backups, but Shopify specifies in their Terms of Service that each merchant is responsible for protecting their own account-level data. Yes, Shopify backs up your store data, but they can’t restore your individual store. How data loss can happen and what impact can it have on the business?

Examples: Third-party app errors, human error, malicious attacks and cybercrime (including recent increases in cyberattacks towards SMBs), CSV or JSON File imports gone wrong.

What can Shopify merchants do to protect their data, online stores and their bottom line? What is BaaS (Backup as a Service) for, what is Rewind and how does it help?
